Hello fellow Planet Wu denizens. I am an anime sage that has taken residence here to deliver what knowledge and thoughts I possess. Please entertain this foggy musing about gloriousness of anime and manga.
I typically admire and appreciate the ideas of the anime’s intentions and other beauties outside the direct purpose: to entertain. Because anime and manga are art. Incredibly flexible art that can tell an infinite number of stories that can range from as silly as a soda can transforming into a girl (Akikan) to as serious as a doctor hunting down a psychopathic murderer he saved (Monster) to a story of a character displaying nobility in face of savagery in a game to receive godhood (Platinum End) to a story of characters just celebrating the bliss of devouring exquisite food so powerful it will give you a foodgasm (Food Wars).
I have seen and read so many stories that could not be effectively and passionately replicated within the confines of traditional acting. I will elaborate on this more in a separate blog, but anime transcends various mediums and in my opinion, it should be respected as a superior medium, because it can incorporate just about every art form at its full potential. It’s a controversial statement, but it is what it is.
So I try to discuss those numerous facets and even ponder on possible other benefits that maybe you haven’t considered. I try to be more flexible in my thinking because that is how you generate new ideas in life. And considering how flexible anime is, the saying “anime is life”, has a ring of truth doesn’t it?
